  29. Lets start out with a question today; What is the setting in this book?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Based off the quote "He wore his happiness like a mask and there was no way of going to knock on her door and ask for it back," do you think that he is already in love with this girl based off the impact she already has on him?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't know if he loves her yet. He doesn't really know what he feels, but he is definitely interested in her differences.

      Delete
  31. "If they give you ruled paper, write the other way." What do you think this comment means?

    ReplyDelete
  32. When Clarisse said, "I'm seventeen and I'm crazy." why does she think this way? Why did her uncle tell her this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think this is just saying how she is a teenage girl and there is no such thing as a normal teenage girl?

      Delete
    2. I think she has just developed this idea because of all the criticism and insults she has maybe received in her past, based off what she said about nobody ever talking to her back.

      Delete
  33. Who/ What could Clarisse McClellan symbolize in this story or in Guy Montag's life?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Clarisse reminds Guy of himself, she is a crazy young girl looking for life.

      Delete
  34. What do you think the girl represents. Rebirth?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Author made her seem like a ghost but I think Clarisse is the fireman's conscious trying to give him happiness.

  35. Replies
    1. She showed up in the night and provided a light in Montag's life and gave him vision in the dark, just as a candle would.

      Delete
    2. Personally, I think Clarisse represents a light that is different to Guy. This light is almost happy and not always dark. She brings something else that he has not seen before.

    3. This comment has been removed by the author.

      Delete
    4. Clarisse is flickering of self-awareness and knowledge.

    5. She is a different kind of person and she is going to help Montag and this will spark his life which will make him think more about his life and where he is going.

  39. On page 3, why is the hose referred to as "this great python spitting its venomous kerosene upon the world" Why is it a venomous thing?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think its this dark venomous thing because it is destroying history and books.

      Delete
    2. Yes, like Will said, it is poison for the books because it is destroying it all.

  40. She showed Montag a light that he had never really thought of. He is also coming out of the dark.

    ReplyDelete
  41. "You make me feel old and like a father" Why did they put this teen girl in the story that lives next to Montag, is it for Montag to feel like a father?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Page 9, Clarisse explains, "Oh just my mother and father and ucle sitting around, talking. It's like being a pedestrian, only rarer..." How do families and people not talk to each other without going insane?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Where is Clarisse from and why does she know so much about times before they started burning books.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Her family must have told her all of these things because her family chose to defy the government and not follow their rules. They still talk, walk, and read, so they know about history.

    ReplyDelete
  53. On page 17, why does the government not give sport teams names or colors?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think they did this because the government didn't want there to be a better team. They all look the same and since they don't have names or colors, it doesn't allow the crowd to cheer for one team; therefore, it doesn't matter who wins.

      Delete
    2. The government is trying to keep everyone equal and nobody can be different from eachother

  57. I think Clarisse will only spark Montags thoughts and lead him to wanting more in life.

    ReplyDelete

  63. Why does Clarisse claim that she is "Crazy"? Why has she not gotten in more trouble for being a pedestrian, and breaking other laws which is illegal?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I also wonder how she has not gotten in more trouble because she is blatantly defying the rules, and she does not try to hide it.

  69. Was Mildred actually trying to commit suicide or was it truly an accident like the one Montag described?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Why has technology become so selective? People are not allowed to have candles, yet large TV's are common? Why is this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think it might be because the candle has to do with fire and maybe fire is only allowed for firemen. They can have TV's because it doesn't use fire. It is a way of fireproofing the houses.
