  1. Describe the change Guy Montag has shown from beginning to now. Do you think he would have performed murder in the beginning of the book?

    1. I think that he has changed a lot from the beginning of the book. He used to be very pleased with his life and liked his captain, but now he has killed him. I don't think he could have never killed anyone in the beginning

      Delete
    2. Would he even consider picking up a book at the beginning? Would that thought even cross his mind?

      Delete
    3. At the start of the book he questions what Clarisse is saying and her thoughts. Now he is so far along with what started as Clarisse's thoughts that he now has to run away and stay on the DL (down low) or else he will be killed.

    4. I think he has changed drastically, he used to be extremely ignorant and content with his life. He also wasn't capable of murder in the beginning but now he is.

  2. Why do you think Mildred ended up calling in on Montag?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think she thought she was doing the right thing because that is the law. But I also think she did not think of him as her family she thought the TV was her family. Montag was just really somebody that lived with them.

      Delete
    2. She probably realized that she didn't like him and found him to be an oddball which was going against the norm.

      Delete
    3. She is blind on what really matters in life. She had no love for Montag and couldn't care less what happened to Montag. Mildred only cares about herself.

      Delete
    4. I think she was worried for her own safety

      Delete
    5. She probably did it because she was fed up with keeping a secret for her husband that she seemed like she didn't like very much. She didn't want to pay the consequences for Montag's actions.

      Delete
    6. She was probably scared and thought it was the best thing to do.

  3. If my house was burning down i don't think i would really care what to grab. I do not really have any object that i need.

    1. ya i agree what i grab isnt very important

  4. Is Montag going to flee and join a walking camp in order to be safe from the law.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that he will try to get to a walking camp but I don't think it will be that easy

      Delete
    2. I don't think that one man can hide from the whole country. I think he will try to, but he will get caught eventually.

  5. "Fire its real beauty is that it destroys responsibility and consequences." Does this mean a lot of the times fire is started on purpose in life is because of wanting of destroying responsibility and consequences.

  6. Could the war be against people who oppose the governments control over people or is the government just saying there is a war to get the citizens approval?

    ReplyDelete
  7. On page 119, Montag kill Captain Beatty with a flamethrower, "And then he was a shrieking blaze." Why do you think the author chose to have such a violent death with fire when all of the firemen think that fire is so peaceful?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think this is when Montag becomes the most motivated to achieve his goals and he wont stop for anything in his way anymore like he has previously in the book.

  8. If the war happens in the book what kind of war do you think it will be? Could it be another nuclear war or will they be mobilizing large armies.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think it could be a nuclear war or large amount of troops. I think it will depend on what the government thinks they will need.

      Delete
    2. I think it would get way out of hand. We don't know what the government is capable of.

      Delete
    3. Looking back in the book, Montag mentioned how there had been two atomic wars since 2022. That comment leaves little doubt in my mind that another war would be nuclear.

      Delete
  9. Montag said," we never burned right" before he killed Beatty. What does he mean by this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think he meant that the firemen didn't use fire for the right purpose

      Delete
    2. I think that Montag still has the wrong idea of burning. He thinks that burning right is burning the normal evil crowd, but really I think that burning shouldn't mean any of that.

      Delete
  10. Why would Bradbury use fire as the choice of killing Beatty? What is the symbolic meaning of it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It could resemble Montag's progressively burning hatred towards Beatty, and when Montag gets to his tipping point he refers to fire to teach Beatty how it feels to burn to death like the women that they burned.

      Delete
    2. After Montag killed Beatty he remembered back to when Beatty had said "don't face a problem, burn it."121

      Delete
  11. Does Montag regret his decision of murdering Beatty and running?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that Montag has feelings of remorse, but as he said when talking to Faber, what he did was necessary and it wasn't a spontaneous action, but one that has been thought upon beforehand, both consciously and subconsciously.

      Delete
    2. I think in the moment he doesnt but it may come back to haunt him later

      Delete
  12. If you were montag would you rather have made the decision to be taken to jail or would you have done all that he does

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I probably would've just gone to jail, I am no hero I am just an ordinary man. Plus, I would rather spend a few years in jail than become even more of a criminal and kill people and have to live without being seen.

      Delete
  13. With Mildred continuing to be unpredictable, and Montag not even seeing her as his wife, Why do you think Montag continued to be with her when he was discovering all these new things about books that is totally against what Mildred believes in and her TV world?

    ReplyDelete
  14. "It was a vast stage without scenery, inviting him to run across, easily seen in the blazing illumination, easily caught, easily seen." How would you feel in Montag's position? Is he so afraid not only because he could be caught, but because the light doesn't allow him to hide his true feelings anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  15. "I might be dead by noon; use this." Why would Montag assume that he will die by noon? There are so many time in a day so what's with him thinking this?

    ReplyDelete

    1. He is the most wanted man right now so all of the hounds, cops, and people will be looking for him.

      Delete
    2. I think he knows what is coming. He knows that the government is after him. That has got to be a pretty scary thing.

      Delete
  16. Why did Mildred betray Montag, what does this show about their relationship?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She betrayed him because they had no relationship. They were just living with each other with no purpose at all.

      Delete
    2. She does this because she is trying to protect her family. She feels that her tv family is more important then her husband and she is is trying to save herself.

      Delete
    3. It shows that they were never really in love, and that Mildred became too stuck in her TV world and became devoured in the society and what they want you to believe.

      Delete
    4. This shows that they had no relationship, throughout the book they have shown no affection whatsoever.

      Delete
    5. I think that this just proves that the government played a role in setting up marriages because obviously there was never any type of love.

      Delete
  17. On page 119 Montag kills Beatty, then on the top of page 120 he kills the two other firemen who didn't even try to save themselves. Why do you think they didn't try to save themselves and run from or attack Montag.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think they thought that they deserved it in a sense, I think they were unhappy with their lives and felt like Montag's cause was for the best.

      Delete
    2. I think that they were to dumbfounded to move and think.

  18. Where did Mildred go after she called in the alarm on Montag for hiding the books?

    ReplyDelete
  19. How big is trust in this book?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I feel like the people in the book only trust a few others. I don't think they can really trust each other.

      Delete
    2. Trust is a big part in this book, but also its very limited. Survival consists of just acting as a normal citizen, but survival with freedom requires a huge amount of trust.

  20. What is the difference between Mildred and Montag? How was Mildred's mind manipulated easier than Montag's?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She never figured it out

      Delete
    2. Mildred seemed to be brainwashed like most everyone in that society and Montag was more aware of all the madness that is happening and he's trying to do something about it when Mildred is just sitting back and watching

      Delete
    3. First of all Harrison great question! I believe the difference between them is Mildred is caught up in the bad society whereas Montag wants happiness and answers.

  21. I do not think that she actually was killed i think that montag will actually find Clarisse again

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think Bradbury not explaining how Clarisse died was done that way for a reason and for the audience not to worry about the character and have the main focus on the main characters.

    ReplyDelete
  23. What are some predictions you guys have?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He will die:)

      Delete
    2. I predict that their will be a chase down and montag will get away and find faber. I think faber has connections or something with printers and that they will go to them.

      Delete
    3. Faber and Montag might fall in love

      Delete
  24. Beatty isn't afraid of death. He wanted Montag to kill him.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Do you think stay at home wives' like Mildred are more suggested to being trapped in the TV world since they just stay at home and watch TV?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Has Beatty read a lot because of the text he knows?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think he has. How else would he quote a scholar?

      Delete
  27. If the war is real, why do you think it was started? Do you think that all nations in the world are like the one Montag lives in, or do some still encourage reading and education?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that their might be free societies fighting to free this state.

      Delete
  28. Why do you think Beatty wanted Montag to kill him? Do you think he wanted Montag to kill him?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe Beatty has secret beliefs that the society they live in is corrupt and he wanted to take the easy way out without letting anyone else know his views on the problem

      Delete
    2. I don't think he wanted Montag to kill him, but I don't think he showed an urgency because he knew that if Montag were to follow through with murder, then the whole government would have gone after him. And I think Beatty really wanted that.

      Delete
    3. I think he wanted Montag to kill him because he has books of his own and would rather die by Montag than be caught and killed by the government. It is so he is remembered kind of as a hero by dying by fugitive than dying as a fugitive himself.

      Delete
  29. What do you think was the difference between montag and the other fire men what pushed montag to start to take books an none of the other fire men. Have there been other firemen to do the same thing as Montag?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There probably have been a few firemen before montag but they got caught. I think montag has gotten lucky and that he has a smarter spark to him.

      Delete
  30. Who could Beatty actually be? He seems highly educated in literature... Do you think he once read books like Montag?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think he has he just will not admit it because reading is not allowed but I think he has broken the rules about it.

      Delete
    2. It would make sense for him to do that, being the leader of a firemen department would make the perfect disguise to harbor banned books.

      Delete
  31. I don't really think that Beatty wants to be better than everyone else I think he just wants to prove his points and taking advantage of Montag. Montag was to blind to see that Beatty was smart and knew all along.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He may have also used his knowledge to make Montag feel bad and unintelligent so that Montag would get the impression that books hurt people and are bad.

      Delete
  32. Will Montag change the world's views or will he be caught and sent to prison?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Do you think that Montag will successfully start a revolution on keeping books safe?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Justin talked about how the government gave Beatty the information about the books and about how the government controlled the books, but the government isn't who banned the books. Society evolved until they didn't need/want books anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Is there still hope for Montag?
