  1. When ambition turns into greed it usually has a negative effect. This happens when one person wants something so bad that they can change as a person. When someone gets too greedy then their friends will turn against them and no one will trust their actions.

  2. Ambition and greed are two of the same things, but are the complete opposites as well. They both have the same meanings, desire. But ambition is good, and greed is evil. When ambition starts to turn to greed, ones state of mind starts to slowly turn to evil, suffering major consequences in the end. When greed takes over, the typical actions taken place consist of force and power. In the end, consequences could contain great loss.

  3. Ambition and greed have the same meanings but different context. Greed is usually caused by jealousy and causes you to commit evil acts. Ambition is something you have to work for and something you achieve. The consequences of an evil greed is exactly what Macbeth is going through right now in the story. He killed Duncan because of his greed and the death is causing more problems which is making him commit more evil acts.

  4. When ambition turns to greed is when something that you strive for, turns into something that you can't get enough of. Ambition relates to positive actions and events, but greed turns the positives into negatives. Consequences of good behavior are very small if there are any at all. One consequence could be that people find you too good and take advantage of you. Other than that good behavior has no consequence.

  6. When ambition turns to greed it can turn a man into a psychopath, for example Macbeth thinks he is on top of the world. When really in reality he was told by three old ladies. It is great when you want to achieve but its bad when you take it too far (a.k.a killing those in front of you). When you are too greedy, you want everything and take advantage of people and the common good for your own gains. Ambition is great but greed is much worse.

  7. When ambition turns to greed, the desire to succeed and make yourself respectable still stays, but the person caught by greed can only see success in one way. For them, it isn't possible to be successful without power, money, and possessions. More often than not in our world, there aren't many consequences for greedy people. Occasionally people are put in the spotlight for stealing money from organizations, but many people still go unnoticed. But mentally, greedy people lose the ability to empathize with others, as they only care about themselves and what they have.

  8. Ambition is a wonderful thing as when you know that you want to succeed at something, but when your ambition cant be controlled that's when it turns into greed which can eat a person alive. Greed is not a characteristic but almost like a drug. Once you have gotten the experience of it people don't know when to control or stop it. Such as Macbeth as he dug himself in a deeper hole by greed and wanting all the power. Ambition is wonderful if you know the limits to it, but there is a point where is broken and greed takes over. Greed is the evil side of ambition.

  9. When ambition turns to greed, that isn't a very good thing. What normally happens is that, people do stupid things and maybe dangerous things just to get what they want. Ambition can be a very dangerous thing, it can make people do things that they normally wouldn't do. However, when combined with greed it center all that ambition on one thing and it makes the person refuse to give up until they get exactly what they want.

  10. Ambition turns to greed when you stop having a desire to do something and you grow a selfish need to do it. Greedy behavior could end up making you look like a selfish fool who cares about nothing but getting what they want.

  11. When ambition turns to greed then you start to grow selfish and lose sight of your original goals. Also the people that once trusted you and followed you end up questioning your authority. With a loss of followers your power that drives your ambition becomes depleted. There is a fine line between ambition and greed, when you put yourself before your followers than you will end up losing your trust you have built.

  12. When ambition turns to greed there is a slow descent into madness. You stat off just striving for more just as any ambitious person would, but slowly you will be able see that their ambition leech slowly into madness. Their goals become unnecessary and overall brash. The difference between greed and ambition is not only how brash the goals are, but how ruthlessly the person striving for them attacks them.

  13. When ambition turns to greed the person turns very selfish and think in evil ways. When you are greedy, the goals you have you normally think off a way to accomplish it that has very bad for everyone but yourself. Being greedy normally leads to having no friends or anyone who trust you. Macbeth killed one of is closest friends Banquo because he is greedy in the way that he wants his children to be kings and because Banquo was suspicious of Macbeth because he has been a little greedy so their relationship has broken further apart.

  14. When ambition turns to greed that person becomes selfish and forgets the importance of others in their life. They go from having a goal and wanting to reach it to needing that thing and keeping it. Macbeth killed Banquo out of greed because he was in the way of Macbeth keeping his current power and will keep doing so until he falls apart. So far the greed has destroyed Macbeth as a person and will keep forcing him to make bad decisions.

  15. When ambition turns to greed the victim of the greed becomes more about what he/ she wants rather than completing an action for the good of all and them self. Ambition is the strong desire to do something that requires a lot of hard work and determination. Greed is when the person wants to receive more than he/she already has or when they become selfish. Being greedy can lead to great failures and falls. Most of the time greed does not lead to great success.

  16. When ambition turns to greed in a person, that person forgets the purpose of the task at hand, just like Macbeth has. Greedy behavior is evil and Macbeth has bought totally into the witches prophecies and it is going to backfire on him very soon. The consequences of greed can have many bad things in them and they can come with huge loss and this is the direction Macbeth is going in.

    1. When Ambition is turned into greed it usually isn't positive. When your greedy you don't care about other people and the only thing you care about is yourself. Macbeth dosent even hesitate to kill Banquo because he stands in the way of him loosing his spot as king. He is so greedy he would kill a good friend just so he can stay king.

  17. Greed is when you only care about yourself and greedy people usually desire power and wealth. Ambition is when you are determined and hardworking to get something done. So when your hardworking and determination influences you to do what you desire, it doesn't help and becomes greed. Greed will corrupt anyone and adding ambition gives digs that person deeper into a hole. In Macbeth, Macbeth was questioning whether he could go deeper into the blood, or back out and desert. He felt like he couldn't do either. This is from his greed, and it confused him and will confuse anyone.

  19. I think that when ambition is taken over by greed, there is less thinking going on. A greedy person has less of a concience and has is not as aware of good and evil. An ambicious person has reasonable goals and can see more easily what the effects of their ambicions will be. I think that Macbeth is a perfect example of This, at the beggining of the play he has goals but still a view of right and wrong, when he goes crazy, all of his concious goes down the drain

  20. When ambition turns to greed it has a negative effect because usually greed means wanting more than one needs. This means that when someone has a goal and is working to achieve it that is ambition, but when that person achieves the goal and is not thankful for what they have, they start to want more and become power/object hungry. This usually leads to the person with greed reaching a point that leads to negativity. Macbeth is beggining to become greedy because he is constantly wanting to kill and rid of his competition just to keep the crown of Scotland.

  21. Ambition itself is a good thing. It is good to dream and hope and strive for new and greater things, but when it turns to greed, it can ruin and control you. At first, Macbeth has a swell life and is already the Thane of Glamis along with being a war hero. He has ambitions to be King, but he does not need it to complete him. Sadly, these hopes and ambitions turned to greed. This made him kill for his selfish wants. He ends up feeling terrible and weighing down his conscience for the rest of his life.
